GENERAL

Although known primarily as a singer and secondarily a piano teacher, Lesley-Jane has nevertheless always been a “scribbler”. In recent years she has devoted more time to composition, with choral music in particular an obvious medium for her creative outpourings. She is delighted to have had works performed at Wells Cathedral, Gloucester Cathedral, St Albans Abbey and St Bride's Fleet Street among others.

In 2022 she had various choral items recorded and also her oboe sonata, links to which can be found below.

** NEWSFLASH **
Lesley-Jane is delighted that Christopher Stokes and the Manchester Cathedral Choir will be premiering her carol Rejoice and be Merry at their Nine Lessons and Carols Service on Sunday 22 December 2024.

RECENT EVENTS
Lesley-Jane was honoured to be one of ten female composers commissioned to write a French Song as part of Alison Smart Fisher and Katharine Durran’s New French Song (2) Series. The first and second performances of Les Séparés were given on:
Sunday 22 September 2024 at Moffat Distillery, Moffat, Dumfriesshire, DG10 9FE
and
Wednesday 25 September 2024 at Burgh House, Hampstead, London, NW3 1LT
and were recorded for Divine Art in November 2024.

She is also a keep improviser, and vocal students will attest that they are often treated to some extraordinary accompaniments to vocal warm-ups!
